2.5L MPG problems

well i finally had a nice day to put the new PCV on an comparing old to new, first the old one had some sludge on it but not all that much really just a couple really small peices, also the old one was just fine still rattled and everything, i figure well i already got the old one off might as well put a new one cuz who know when the last time it was replaced, one thing i notice in difference and this was as soon as i started the truck was it was idleing at a lower RPM than b4, id say 100-200rpm less, not sure exactly but u can notice the difference in the tone of the idle

Keeps us informed about your mpg too. I'm getting bad mpg also, but because of the cold winter I've just begun my search.

well its 50 degrees up here in michigan today, its seems somewhat better , but i cant say for sure until i do something about the EGR tube, although i still havent had anycodes for it say insuencifcant flow from the egr, what engine is in ur ranger

so i can say for certain the temp outside is affecting it, its currently 42F outside, i took my truck after work on about 90mile drive all hwy, i can say for certain its gotten louder, i kept it between 65-72 on the intersate and about 60 on the 2 lane hwy, using maybe lil more 1/4 tank, but not much more i actually almost ran out of gas or at least i thought which i filled up tank and discovered i still had about 1.5gallons of gas still in it, and from what i can tell im getting currently about 22-23 hwy, which actually isnt that bad,(90-110miles per 4gallons of gas is normal for gas consumption for this truck it typically equals out to about 24mpg), i have gotten better than 24mpg my best is 28mpg
