i am a rookie obviously in need of some assistance. i am in to the whole "ricer" thing so sue me. ive had my little ford focus for awhile now and its fast enough to suit me and ive been happy with it. i bought my 2000 ranger 2.5L about a year ago that has been rolled and serioiusly messed up and then i fixed it by swapping out the rear for the 8.8 edge rear end and knocking out all the dents and what not. i bought it and fixed it for $1200. i love my ranger almost more than life itself but there is one thing i HATE about it. ive been looking for power adders for my truck and i cant find a single freakin thing. is there any1 out there that can point me to some power adders for my truck besides intake, exhaust, and nitrous?

Do a seach,been well covered

ah come on now. if there weren't guys like me asking redundant questions over and over this forum would be practically dead. but fine ill do it your way. what would be a good starting point for the search? power adder cam back with nil. and im stupid when it comes to stuff like this. some1 has to practically draw me a picture

ok theres superchargers and turbochargers. For your application i would pick a turbocharger. Why? because a turbo uses otherwise wasted exhaust gases to spin a turbine that is conected to a shaft that spins a compressor wheel.
A supercharger will create a parasitic drag due to the belt which robs the crank up to 20-30hp give or take. Which also hurts your fuel ecomony when your not even into boost. A turbo when not in boost (cruising/idle) will just spin there not creating a drag or pumping loss. turbochargers also have a higher adiabatic effeciency. A turbo will be easier to install than a custom supercharger setup and it parts are sourced correctly you can have a turbo kit for a grand or two. Do you have any welding/cutting experience at all? A low budget build can be done. I built my kit for 150$ of parts just laying around and so far (knock on wood) its worked great.

i could do turbo but that isnt exactly what i had in mind. im talking pretty much anything besides doing a swap, forced induction, or nitrous. im already toying with the idea of robbing a turbo off a honda tho.

why would you steal one off of a honda when there are already kits made for the lima engine on mustang svo's and mustangs?? you could have the header and turbo alot easier that way. then you would only need a wide band o2 sensor bigger injectors and tune it.
if you want something easy like most "ricers" get yourself a chip.

if you wanna do something that will really help get yourself a bigger cam, and port and polish the head. take the intake baffle out assuming your truck has one give it a bigger exhaust so it can breath easier. just make sure not to go to big otherwise you won't have good low down torque.

check the tech pages they have alot of info , super chips make a plug and keep in chip which works not bad with upgraded exhaust and intake that combined with a good set of plugs and wires, it will have more power but it wont be a 4.0 but it dose give it a good old boost for thos not ready to go turbo.

like travisl1345 said, you're not going to get much of anything without some internal engine work.
