so years ago i started doing a 2.3t swap in my 87 2wd ranger. the harness was a hacked up mess when i bought the truck because it was originally an auto and was converted to a manual. this "conversion" was done by a junkyard and you can really tell lol. tried to make it work but never could get fuel or spark so i quit. moved a 1000 miles away and couldnt take the truck and it sat for many years. now i just got it moved out here and want to conquer this hunk. best i can remember its an 87-88 tbird motor. using a la3 computer. found a decent used harness that was supposed to have come off a 84 but looks like it must be 85 cause it is FI. my question for right now is do you have to run the integrated relay controller module from the tbird or can you just leave it out? will have more questions im sure as the project moves along. im good with wiring as i have made a few custom harnesses.

Welcome to TRS

Up at the top of this, and all, pages is the Main Banner.
Just below it are links to resources we might need.
3rd one from the Left is "Tech Articles"
Click on that one, this is the "been there done that" place for everything Ranger

In your case then click on "Engines & Fuel tech"

There are 3 articles there about 2.3l turbos done by members, your answer should be there.

I am not ignoring your question, I don't know the answer.
I am just living by that old proverb and "teaching a man to fish"

Idk about the relay question, but the svo mustang was Carbed to 83, and efi from 84-86. It is very possible its an 84.

not if it's a Ranger harness... but yeah :)

The relay wiring shouldn't matter too much as long as the circuitry is setup to take the load at hand... Ford changed around a few times... as long as the wires go to the right place it'll be fine, I've had mine screwed up a few ways and after I found the problem was amazed it worked at all... :)
