This is from my 2.3l turbo engine that is likely (from the block code) from an 1984 SVO. I pulled the head off to do some inspections. The pistons and the cylinder walls are surprisingly clean. From the looks of it I don't have to rebuild the lower end. I've just been trying to before I go farther what the numbers 4 or 5 stamped into the pistons means. I've been looking but can't really find anything that's satisfying.
I know that manufacturers have different sized pistons they use but I'm not sure about Fords numbers and if it's normal to see two sizes in one engine.
I'm hoping that I don't have to do a rebuild on the lower end. What do you guys think?
