Heyy im new here but I need help. Im trying to smog my truck, a 1992 Ford Ranger xlt Single cab, it has a 2.3L dual spark plug engine and it runs GREAT. Not good, but it drives amazing. When I go up to my dads shop we connected the Obd1 reader and started running to tests to check the codes it would send back and it kept saying that my computer would respond to the reader. We checked the connections a dozen times and it seems my truck just wouldn't respond to anything. Someone said this means my ecu is bad. But wouldnt my truck not run?
Also, the only thing ive noticed wrong with my truck ( other then the HUGE dent in my door from this bitch on the freeway http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/images/smilies/annoyed.gif ) is sometimes ill go to start it and theres a big CLICK..... then my truck wont start it just clicks everytime I turn the ignition to start. I have to restart my truck ( by disconnecting the battery ) for 5 minutes then it starts just fine. If ANYONE can tell me whats up with my truck I would gladly buy you a beer
Thanks,
Jason
