stickers/decals seem to help, at least it gives you the perception of going faster. :secret:

lower gears in the butt, roll a 4.10 under it. If yours came with 3.45’s it will feel like more power.

Yeah, horsepower isn't the easiest thing on these... easiest way like racsan said is just to change the gear ratio's and stay in the gears longer. These things don't come with tachometers very often but the rev limit is at 6000rpm, my '97 hits that at about 55mph in second gear with 4.10 gears and 29" tires... the horsepower of these things really goes up over 3000rpm or at least it feels like it.

Cheapest if you consider your labor free is to pull the cylinder head and do some port work to the intake side of the head, don't bother trying to gasket match since the ports and gaskets are normally drastically different shapes... but on the intake side especially there's room for improvement. Past that you're really down to adding a turbo or something, you can go to about 5psi safely without major changes but past that the cast pistons become a weak link.

Always remember.

Engines is goes vroom.

Best ways to do a 3.5-5psi setup? Someone here had one with a blower, but can't find any photos.

I don't remember, personally eventually my '97 will end up with a turbo at some point but I have a spare turbo and exhaust manifold, plan on getting some bigger injectors and some tuning software and go to town, just get a wastegate regulator thing like I have on the '90 that is set to I think 16psi and adjusting it to a safe threshold... I have all sorts of stupid ideas for being a daily driver, but if I get caught up on my normal projects why not? :) A range box and a small turbo would change the attitude of the thing, throw in some head porting and it would probably run pretty good. It's really a spring chicken at 155k miles compared to anything else I have...
