2.3 with subaru parts ?

I read the ''cheap turbo swap'' in the tech librairy and it got my mind thinking !

I have a TD-04 from a '05 WRX and a top mount intercooler from a JDM STi siting in a corner of my garage I'm also getting a set of 380cc injector ( wich is 36 lbs/hr) of a 05 WRX next week !

is a stock td-04 and the t3 of a Tcoupe similar in cfm ?

my build list : td-04
Sti top mount intercooler
380cc injector
resistor box for injector
AFPR
custom manifold and exhaust
wideband gauge

what else is missing ?

IIRC, the TD04 is a ball bearing turbo charger and is just a tad smaller than a Garret T3. I run one on my 2.0 Suby and it has plenty of boost and spools pretty fast. Much better than the VF11 it came with. The only issue might be the weird subaru flange. It would probably work great on a 2.3.

TD04 will spool faster, I think the .63 a/r turbine housing on the T3 will flow more. Plus it's easier to find a T3 header for a ranger, but if you are building a header than it's no problem.

Just FYI, I have a reman basically new CHRA .60/.63 T3 w/ an SVO-type compressor housing for sale and/or trade. Just let me know if you are interested
