hey guys im tuneing up my truck and was woundering if there was a more detailed view of the plug wire routing on my truck. the haynes manual is not real clear. this is my 1st 4 cylinder.:icon_confused:

what exactly is the question? would a picture help?

Basically keep the wires off things like exhaust manifold. and if the all reach their respective "point A's, and point B's" then you're golden.

I did this yesterday...and now have a inch long gash on my Left ring finger...thank god for superglue.

I ran the 4 on the intake side across the valve cover between the Vent tube and the throttle body. I assume those are the ones confusing you.

yea pics would be good, i thought one coil pack ran one side and the other coil pack ran the other side.

Are there no plug wires there now? If so, all you need to do is replace them one a time or draw the layout before you start.

PM me your email address. I'm @ work and I can drop downstairs take a pic and email it to you.

Yes one coil pack provides spark to one side, and the other to the other side....
but yeah PM me an email address and I'll take a pic and email it to you.

pic sent. lemme know if that gets the job done. if u need more detail I can do that too...that was just a quick iphone pic.

hey man good pic, can i get some more detail, why on mine do i have one coil pack on the drivers side and one on the passenger side? is mine normal? would mine wire up like urs?

any body have any pics or anything of plug wire placement on a 2.3 with coil packs on each side of the motor?

I'll go back to my initial question - are there no plug wires there at all now? If so, that will give you the correct routing.

Yours is one of the earlier "dual-plug" setups, then later on, about 94-95 or so they put both coil packs on the drivers side. On my 97 there both on the drivers side

The coil packs on my '94 are on the passenger side of the motor.

i took them off and forgot where they go... i know ur suposed to do one at a time but i got side tracked and ending up taking them all off cause i cleaned and painted the motor.

the coil packs should be labeled 1-4, 1 is the front cylinder, from there 2 3 4, just route them so they don't touch stuff and get them in the right order
