2.3 tranny with 3.0 motor?

title says it all. will a 94 2.3 transmission work with a 3.0 6cyl.? (is the bolt pattern the same?)

if manual no, if auto probably with the right bellhousing if it has a removable one (never worked on one with an auto that I paid attention to)

3.0 shares a common bolt pattern ONLY with a 3.8 front wheel drive (freestyle). i have a 3.0 truck and looked into all the bolt patterns when wanting to do an auto/manual conversion. also looked into it again when i was looking for a new manual 2.3 trans for my 2.3 truck. the 2.3 only bolts to 2.0/2.5 and the 2.8/2.9/4.0 ohv bolt together. not sure about the 4.0 sohc. the bellhousings on the a4ld/4r44e/5r55e automatics are not interchangeable.

what trans missions? if its a A4LD 4speed auto trans, you will have to swap the bell housings.
