Hi everyone, I ordered replacement parts for my 1992 Ranger 2.3 A4LD. Among other repairs, I'm going to change the water pump and the timing belt, as this truck is new to me, and I don't know when the timing belt was last changed. I think the water pump is original, as the truck has 92k miles. While buying the parts from Rock Auto, I noticed they wanted me to buy a water pump wrench and a fan clutch pulley wrench. I passed. Do I need any special tools to do this work?:icon_confused:

No. Check your fan clutch and see how it's held on. Either a large threaded hex or 4 bolts.

it'll be 4 bolts with 10mm heads, the timing belt is harder than the water pump but no special tools are needed, use a pry bar to loosen the tensioner.
