If you're shooting for 300 hp you definitely need forged pistons and a turbo, lol...

you know guys i am very interested in this conversion and i did watch the u-tube shots but what volvo motor does this head come off of and in what type volvo was it it in either turbo or natural aspration. it seems like one hell of a motor so if anyone knows the info on this i would like to get it from you i have the time and would like to build this engine. thanks

I am not sure about this, but I believe it's the B230FT head.

Looking at wikipedia, the B30 looks like a straight 6. The engine *I think* (based on 5 minutes of research) is a B234.

Sorry, meant to say B230FT, not B30FT. However, as the poster above indicated, the B234FT is the DOHC version.

All I have to say is good luck finding one.

I have the only two B234F heads I have ever seen in person, They are not a common find, thats for sure...

thanx for the good luck charm. i found two on ebay motors for $280. i realize i need to go to a turbo but this head will also give me a lot more added power too. this is also a cheaper option for now. Im in the process of tryn to go to wyotech this coming year for high performance engines and interior design so. Plus rome wasnt built in 1 day either lol.

Well I hope you have a machine shop and 300 amp Tig welder at your disposal, because there is alot more to it than bolting it on, If you dont, it aint going to be cheaper then converting to turbo first. Usually the volvo head comes after the turbo conversion.
