would it mate? I am considering a stock rebuild 2.3 with a aftermarket intake manifold and carb, possibly with header (jury is still out on that) . the vehicle is a '84 Bronco II with a 2.8 , C5 tranny and 4 WD.
I had thought v8 but it seems overkill. Perhaps rebuilding the 2.8, but it seems the 2.3 is a more reliable powerplant from what I have read. I wont go rock crawling or any bogging. Just basic trails and getting out to enjoy nature. I also see alot of freeway travel, So MPG is a consideration. I am not against a 5 speed swap, but would prefer to use the auto to keep costs down.
It also looks like the 2.3 is easier to work on. I hate changing spark plugs on the 2.8.
thanks for any thoughts.
