i have 91 ranger 5 spd. I know it is a 4 banger but does anyone know or heard of boring out a 2.3l and milling the head, or stroking a 2.3l I am looking for any suggestions. i want to v8 swap it but gas is going up again so i am not sure due to this being my daily driver.:icon_confused:

Refer to our Tech library, its one of the buttons on the homepage under the TRS logo. Look under the 2.3 and stuff. Best bet is to go with a Turbo out of, say a late 80's turbo coupe. Other than that nothing. They sell cams and such and I have seen a few wild n/a 4bangers but end result is certainly no v8.

I have done a couple mods and it is a turbo and it is slow, comparing to a v8.
still fun though. I like mine, but honestly, the best way to make your ranger feel like your going faster is to lower it. 4 inches feels like 40km's faster. lol.

low and slow

If you think a 2.3Turbo is "slow" compared to a V8
there is something wrong with it.

ive heard of 300hp 2.3's but they wasnt cheap and that was without a turbo ..

I've been in a ranger with a solid 351 and my truck doesn't haul on the highway like that.
It's not slow by any means.
Just faster the lower it goes.
I love my 2.3L
It's destined for 300000kkkkkkkkkms.
