Here is a tricky question for you guys... My dad has a 92 Ranger with the 2.3 in it. It has about 55,000 miles on it. The problem is he says when he fills it up it loses power until it gets down to about a half tank of fuel.. When mine had a 2.3 it had more power when it had a full tank.. Any ideas why his loses power? :icon_welder:

I'm gonna take a stab/guess at this and say it may have to do with either a weak fuel pump struggling under more pressure when full, or possibly with the vapor reclaiming system. Maybe a clogged line from the tank to the charcoal canister. Any thoughts?

hmmmm....I'd say just more weight to pull around and not an issue at all...mine does the same thing...more weight = slower...

Since I've dumped everything out of mine that is not needed (jump seats, A/C, 2.9, air pump, older exhaust manifold) it seems to have more power...now if I could drop down to my old fighting weight of 210 my Ranger would fly...:)
