Interesting data point for the clutch fan / e-fan debate. Keep in mind that Ford engineers trucks to be used as trucks, so you'd have to know the design requirements for the cooling system. Most likely it was designed to be abused.
Heat soak is an issue, but there were an awful lot of vehicles made that didn't have e-fans, and from what I can tell my '99 Cougar will only run the fans after shutoff in extreme conditions. Usually it just turns them off with the key, so even when they could easily keep them on a bit (like several older cars I had did), they don't. For the most part the biggest problem I read about was in the early turbo days wen the oil sitting in the turbo bearing would cook off.
Anyway, you could always let the engine run a second or two rather than cutting it off red hot.
