83/84 Ranger Diesel water separator

There is a T handle located behind the drivers seat. Pull up on it and it will drain the water separator. You might need to "jiggle" it a little afterwards to get it to reseat. I have an 83 and an 84. The 83 has about 120,000 miles and the 84 has less than 100,000 miles. I really want to install a 5 speed. I love driving both of them.

I'm having the same issue. I have a gas body '83 ranger with a blown engine that I want to stick a 2.2 in. I have the engine, but don't know if I can pull this off. Can anyone help?

Sorry, I meant to say the same issue as Wayne up above. Need to put an '83 diesel in an '83 gas body. Can it be (easily) done?
