2.0 2bbl reliability...

Hi, How reliable is the Ford Ranger 2.0 engine? Mine is an 1988 model and it runs good and currently has 112K miles. It seems to have a slick knock coming from the engine but it is barely noticeable and has gotten quieter since switching to 10w-30 oil weight. Let me know. Thanks.

mine has 144 thousand and runs good.
if the knock is coming from the bottom end it probably won't be long and you will need a new motor. if it is the top of the engine it probably is not that big of an issue but I would fix it.
how is the oil pressure?

I had one in my old truck. was slower than crap, but always started great, and ran awesome.
