1st Gen replacement

Got a 85 2wd 2.3 with a suspect TK-5. Can I replace it with a 5-speed from a newer ranger?

You can replace with one up to a 1987 model truck. You maybe able to go newer but just to warn you, the 88 and up models came with Mazda transmission and they are longer. Therefore your cross member and such may not line up and etc.
