I have a set of brighter than standard bulbs in it now, they are brighter than stock but I think they increased the angle between high and low beams so in order to have decent highbeams you have to have the headlights shining right in front of the truck... looks like two really bright flashlights on the pavement. If you have the lowbeams set right the highbeams are up in the trees.

So have been thinking about bringing the old girl into the 21 century and getting modern composite headlights.

LMC has the goofy looking Euro headlights, I have heard good things about them but I really do not care for the look at all.

Summit has normal looking Hella housings that come with bulbs.

How do they compare, anything better out there? I would really like to stay with a glass lens if I can, I like the durability of it vs the plastic (that turns yellow, scratches or cracks)

I have some on my truck that look like LMC i got off ebay i don't like them.
i am planing on going Hella i hear thy have a way better cut, i am going to E code. E codes have a tight cut off so i could be able to running higher wattage without blinding people.
I am waiting to have a good deal on them. $60 each seems abit much for headlights. if you happen to come across some let me know.

be careful running higher wattage bulbs, i ran in to a problem in my truck with overheating the switch and i started to have a blinking headlights.

I picked up that harness and that cured that and i ended up having brighter headlights too.

I have heard the first gen headlight switches can struggle with even the stock lighting, I was talking with my brother (Ford Tech) and he has replaced quite a few older pull switches that have melted down with stock lighting. To be honest that pigtail with the relays was already sceduled to be on my next order as a preventative thing.

What don't you like about the LMC ones?

I really don't want really crazy bright lights, I just want decent modern day OEM light coverage.

The ones of my truck look great, thy are way brighter.
Here is my problem thy way thy shine the light just does not cover thy road right. tons of light scatter.

I am wanting to go E-code Hella's since thy have nice cut off.
If you have inspections in your state you will have to use Hella's Hella's Vision Plus thy are DOT approved
Hella E-codes are European standard

My local 4x4 shop are selling IPF. not sure if thy are any good, but there cheap at $38 each. i am afraid the try them so i cant find much info on them. there is not DOT or E-code stamped on them from what i could see.
