Was thinking about doing 19lb injectors in my ranger... Is it worth it.. Is there a difference in power? Wanted to hear some feed back be for I do it
Thanks

every 2.9L made would have destroyed pistons from the factory injectors not being able to keep up if there was anything to gain with injectors that have a higher flow rate. there's no extra power "hidden" that higher flowing injectors will net you, given you have a bone stock 2.9L. you can't get more power just by dumping in more gas and not having the right amount of air.

I have said something about that mis-information in the technical library probably about 10 times already over the years, no one will correct or take it down. :dunno:

pete is right, simply swapping in 19's in place of 14's is only gonna make you lose mileage and power. you would need supporting mods to even think about swapping in bigger injectors.

Have you ever put a fire out by dumping gasoline on it? I have. To much fuel puts the fire out because it won't atomize correctly if the air isn't there to support it. That is why you get fog on the bathroom mirror if you don't turn the fan on or open the window. Too much vapor into not enough air.

Same thing here. Ford calibrated the fuel and air systems as a system, so you have the right amount of air to properly atomize the fuel. If you go adding more fuel it doesn't mix correctly, and then you don't get complete combustion and get up hurting more than you help.

I have 15 or 16 lb injectors (I didn't pick them so I don't remember exactly what they are). I also have a larger cam, heads that have been ported and polished, things are set up to handle it.
