Nope, the tires will be sometime after the v8 swap is done. i just put 2200 into the mustang for new tires, wheels, pads, and rotors... soo... yea... the ranger tires get to wait.

ok, so i took an empty block and test fitted the block to see how the stock mounts on a 302 fit... and i got to thinking....

this thing is TOOO small for this ranger... lol

Sooo if its too small for the ranger, whats on the menu for it, 4.6.....5.4??
SVT

since i have everything for this already... i'm just gonna continue with the 302... but... i will be keeping my eyes open...

I am picking up a 4.6 Cobra for the mustang in a couple months... maybe i should reprovision it for the ranger... lol.

i picked up a set of 85 Mustang GT Convertible Motor Mounts today... they are ALMOST a perfect fit into the ranger. Gotta slot the original stock holes a little bit... and that 302 will drop right in there :-D

less then $50 for the pair...

at JD for their marketed swap 4x4 mounts... it would have bee $200... ugg.. i'm enjoying the $150 savings :-D

I used my stock 4.0L rubbers and modded the stock explorer steel plates = free!!

5.4??? I'm trying to think which one that is....

If I decide to change motors again someday... I'm thinking a 351 would be nice :-D

Though... in my yard sits a 400M for the 79 F250 thats in pieces... and in the project truck thats prolly not gonna happen... is a 460.... :-D

i had thought about making custom brackets for the 3.0L mounts as shown on a site i was looking at.. mighta been here... but this just looks easier today :-D

though... when it comes to lifting things and such... i'm no longer using chain.

having a bunch of round slings works better then chain almost any day with a few shackles :-)

only got into using these since i use them for lifting trussing for sound and lights.....

Think of the Big V8 in the F150's, or the 2008 GT 500 (500 hp 5.4L supercharged)
SVT

yeah... i remembered that after i posted that... lol
i was still thinking older motors at that moment :-P

well.. after some vacation time and work and such... last night i got back to working with the empty block in the ranger... looks like its going to fit perfectly into the stock mounts.

all i have to do is drill the hole a little bit bigger since the 85 mustang mounts, the stud on them are about an 1/8" larger then then studs on the v6 3.0L motors.

:-D

so if i dont go to the movies tonight to see the new transformers... thats what i'm doing... otherwise... thats tomorrows project :-)

That looks really cool but way too much work for me
