I get what you mean, Overkill is better than underbuilt. BUT you definitly can have unessecary overkill.

My concern is the tab furthest forward with no sort of bracing. As a 100% minimum I think you should build a triangular gusset at the end of it, spread across the width of the framerail.

gotcha. i'll have to look at that tomorrow when i'm back out in the garage.

he was more in shock i think when i bought the 3/4" heim joints and such. o well. lol. and honestly, its more then what i needed, but hey... thats what i got, i wasn't gonna pay for return shipping and buy new and pay more shipping.

yup, thats 20" compressed. so it compressed i believe about 3" ( i think they were 23" unloaded).

but it looks awesome! :-) now tomorrow i'll be calling up duff about getting some shocks now. or at least discussion possible options.

just for future knowledge. 3/4-3/4 heim joints are fairly weak. Ive seen a few bust on steering because the casing is thin around the ball. The 3/4shank-5/8" ball is about twice the strength.

my bad, i just took a look at ballistic fab where i got them from... it was 1 or the other of their 1" joints. i know the casing wasn't thin... thats for sure.

well... just yesterday we decided to pull the ranger out of the garage and in the meantime moved it over to the smaller bay... which prompted us to bring the '79 f250 ranger chassis into the garage to start working on that again! :-)

today went out (on a sunday!!!) and found all the brake line stuff I needed for the front end. hooked it all up and bled out all the lines. She rolls... AND stops :-) :yahoo: :icon_bounceblue: :icon_hornsup:

Power steering parts will be ordered on Monday... but i drove it to the back of my property and back (10 acres)

Here are some pictures of it...

just my opinion.. but i dont think you can ever really over build anything.. expecially if your going to be driving it on the road..

you should put the stock pitman arm back in, and run the drag link over the top of it. That will get your drag link/trac-bar alignment in check.

in due time, will be going up to 35" or 38"

as far as i knew, that was the stock pitman arm.... whats the stock pitman arm look like?

shocks will be on order Monday AM :-D so will the power steering hose.

that might be a stock 2wd arm, the 4x4 arm drops. You could try flipping your drag link to the top of that one though.

do you have a pic of it level? i just wanna see how much the tires stick out
