1999 ranger intreior light

I have no light for dome light. I bought ht e truck but it has no interior lights. I ran a hot wire and I can turn on the lights but when u open door It is dead. I checked fuses ok. Do not know which relays to check....help!!!

Forgot to say...no lighting on back light on bed when door opens

I'd suspect the switch. I don't think there are any relays in that setup.

Do the lights come on when you roll the dash dimmer up past the detent?

Also, remember the interior Light works off of a Ground Switched Circuit… power should be at the light at all times, when the door opens it completes the circuit to ground.

Just something to thing about.

Is the no power based on the light not coming on or did you measure the voltage at the bulb ?
