Hey guys I am new here and I am taking on the project this weekend to remove my 3.0 engine out of my 99 ranger.. Any tips you guys want to give me? I read a lot of the removal process and seem pretty easy. I know to take my time and make sure everything is disconnected and all but didnt know if you guys had any other tip to give?
Thank You

Oh yeah another question... Does anyone happen to know what size bolts fit in the ends of the cylinder heads so I can attach the lifting chain to the heads and pull the engine that way?

When I did mine, I removed the lower intake and used the heads there to remove and install. I had no issues with it. Pulled right out and fell right in. Good luck!

I dont know how far along you are with this or what your experience level is, but I recommend getting a nice sharpie and bagging and tagging everything.

I also like to use 1 inch masking tape and put ID tags on hoses and wires if need be, A-A, B-B, etc.
Normally the wiring harness likes to lay right where it came from afterwards, but sometimes you end up with loose ends...

Also, take some photos. Get some nice close up shots.

And when it's time to yank it, have a buddy near by to operate the cherry picker or farm tractor or what-have-you.
