I have a 1999 Ranger with auto locking 4x4 hugs. I had the wheel bearing replaced, and ever since the 4x4 does not work. When I switch to 4high, I can hear the motor on the transfer case engage. I could not find anything in the Haynes Repair manual on front "O" rings, yet in a diagram I found on a Ford repair site, it shows an "O" ring (#1177 BA) in the front of the wheel bearing hub. My question is, does the front "O" ring go inside the front of the wheel bearing hub or does it slide into the groove on the outside of the wheel bearing hub? Any help/information would be appreciated. Thanks.
