I have a 4WD 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0L, Automatic, RABS.

I had intermittent speedometer problems, would come and go, further developed into ABS and shifting issues. I replaced the sensor on the differential and replaced the bad wiring I discovered along the way from the sensor to the harness on the frame rail.

I've remedied the ABS light and thought I fixed my speedometer issues but I'm still fighting gremlins. The speedo will now function correctly from a start to approximately 45-50mph then it will start to ping and bounce all over the place. I can replicate this rather consistently from a full stop to speed. I'm also having shifting issues at that speed as well.

I have no ABS light nor do I have the flashing 0/D light I previously had lit. I do have a some trouble codes attached in the images below.

Looking for suggestions on where to look next as I work my way through troubleshooting.

ABS system is more tolerant of the speed signal when its at 25,000ppm(pulses per mile) than the computer and speedometer when its been converted to 8,000ppm bu GEM module

Where was the bad wire and how was it repaired?
Crimped, soldered, twist and tape

ABS is just "looking for" a sudden drop to 0ppm, a locked up wheel

I twisted a new pair of wires from the sensor to the harness at the frame rail near the rear end. I used heat shrink crimp style butt connectors. I can solder and heat shrink if that's what needs to be done.

The old wires had several crimp repairs and two more bad spots I found while replacing the sensor.

I've cleared the codes again and am going to test drive again later and see what comes back as confirmation as far as OBD is concerned.
