DON'T FLAME ME!! Not my truck. Just wondering if anyone has ever hear of a problem with defective/porous castings on rear transfercase half. Its leaking where there is no bolt, seal, gasket, nothing. Tried JB weld but still leaks. Its like it won't seal to the magnesium case.

What transfer case is it? It might be the same model as one used in a Ford and then more people might know more about it.

jb weld won't help. it needs to come out and the halves split apart. put some ultra black silicone on both halves then put them together so they lightly and evenly touch, but don't tighten them. wait 15-20 minutes then tighten.

It's not where the halves meet, it's not the front or rear driveshaft seal, it's not coming from any bolts, not from any sensors, shift motor, etc, etc. Just thought maybe someone knew someone that had a simular problem. maybe I can get a pic. thanks for the input.

I have heard of pourus metal it happed but I have not heard of it starting only after 12 years of use it is normally pretty obvious from the start

is it blowing off of the transmission? also the transmission or transfer case can leak where it mates to the trans.
