1997 ranger seats

Need to know what ford bucket seats will directly replace my present seats, a 60/40 split. The truck is a xlt stepside, short bed, std. shift, and I will be puting in a standard ranger consol. Hear a lot of talk out there but the hollanger book shows no innerchange. Help appreciated.

moswt any explorer seats up through about 2002 will fit. I put 01 ex seats in my 94, also got some bauer elec seats from a late model ex to put in the passenger side. froms were same so just had to bolt the seats to the frames.

if ya go to a wrecking yard they may allow you to try to fit one from a vehicle to one like yours if available. Thats how I did mine. Also I think there is a tech issue on this in the library?

Most of the seats are just bolted to the lower brackets. So you can just about mount any seat as long as its bolt holes will match up to that lower frame. I have put Jeep Grand Cherokee seats in a ford. I just pulled a set out of my 06 ranger and cleaned them by taking down to the frame. So I am 100% sure they are just bolted to the lower brackets.
I would look into some nice Mustang seats. Have side bolsters..

Don't forget about safety....seat belts must work as well. I know a few people who put in different seat (buckets to replace 60/40). They had to make up a few brackets but everything fit well. We have discussed this several times on this site. Do a search on it.
