I've got a 1997 Ranger XLT 2.3L. Cant find the pcv valve. I have looked where the book says but its not there. Does anybody know where it is or if there even is one? Would appreciate it

its under the intake manifold theres a hose that goes up to the intake off the pcv about 5/8" line from the oil seperator

this is interesting. mines behind the intake manifold sandwiched between 2 lines. i wonder if a previous owner relocated mine. every time i go looking for one it's got the plastic elbow and mine dosen't thanks for the pics guys.

My 94 has the same thing, two different sizes of tubing. That is the way I've seen it on other 2.3 engines. You can take the plastic elbow off of the top of the valve, and what the elbow is connected to will fit in the smaller tubing. The valve you get at the parts store is usually metal, from a dealer is usually plastic. That elbow had me dumbfounded for quite some time until I stumbled on it while taking some parts off a 2.3 at my local pull-n-pay.

Thanks guys, the manuals are quite a ways off &I. did not want to pull parts to find it. I have some leaks& pressure in the crankcass

I replied to your intro...but glad you found it...

Pressure...like blowing oil out the dipstick?

Cleaning out the PCV canister might help too...mine was actually clogged up with grease at one point...soaked it in gas and reamed it out with a screwdriver...what I could scrape that is...
