Ok Guys I have a 1997 ford ranger that i have changed from Manual to automatic. I used the trans from a 1996 ford ranger and computer the problem is the truck is barley running and way too rich i have checked the timing with the alingment tool i believe the timing is good i have also changed the MAF sensor and 6 new injectors...... Any ideas i am out of ideas >>>>>>>>>>>:annoyed:

The only code it is pulling P1445 ?????????

that code is for the purge flow sensor voltage voltage out of range.

3 things can cause this code.

1. damaged purge flow sensor

2. damaged pcm.

3. wiring vpwr and pf pins shorted ( short to power) pf open circuit or pwr ground open circuit. ( check the wiring first. maybe you will find a obvious wiring concern)

first the connector is connected and not corroded do this test. if the sensor was disconnected or the connections were bad then that was most likely your problem.

ok first you need to disconnect the pf sensor and measure the resistance between vpwr pin and the pf pin on the sensor itself. if it's between 40-230 ohms then the sensor is good if not replace it.

This is what i have found i replaced this unit also.

well :annoyed: i think i have the problem isolated the previous owners had put 2 gaskets on the upper intake and had left several gasket remains still attached to the upper which would make a HUGE vacume leak i will reinstall the upper intake tonight. :icon_pepsi:
