Hi everyone! I have a 1990 Bronco II, 2.9L 5spd. I recently purchased a 4.0L to do an engine swap in the old girl and I'm hoping for a little guidance.
I purchased the 4.0L last week. The engine came with the computer and harness that attaches to it. I was also able to get the 5spd transmission included in the deal to replace the one from the Bronco. I've learned a lot from reading the posts on this site, but there is one small issue that I don't see covered anywhere.
The engine and trans came out of a 1997 Ranger. When I got the engine, I noticed that there is a 42 pin connector on the 4.0 that the 2.9 DOES NOT have. The Ranger has been scrapped and is long gone so there is no way for me to get the part that connects to this plug!
Is this something to be worried about? I really have no idea what this plug controls. If there is anyone who has been through this, or if someone has any guidance, it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks
