1996 ford ranger 2.3 5 speed won’t start after installation of clutch master cylinder

The end of the pushrod that connects to the clutch pedal broke off so I replaced the master cylinder and now my truck won’t start … It sat for about 4 months before I fixed the master cylinder….Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to why it won’t start.. I was able to jump the starter solenoid on the fender but now it’s not starting at all even by jumping the solenoid … You hear a click when trying to start it …

Could really use some advice because I have no idea….

The click indicates a low battery charge to me. Don't have any other input.

Ditto your battery died while it was sitting. Jump to confirm.

The starter relay directly connects the battery and starter. If you bridge it, and the starter is connected, not seized, and the battery is good, the starter should spin.

The battery and terminals are new… it was starting by jumping the solenoid but now it’s not even doing that…
