Hello I have a 1995 extended cab 2wd. I am curious if I notch my frame if I would have to cut my bed. I currently have a stock 8.8 and a flip kit, and am sitting on bump stops. I don't mind cutting my bed, I was just curious if I would have to when I notch it. I'm sure I'd have to I'd just like to prepare for it. I also have a 1 piece driveshaft to convert from my factory 2 piece of crap, and I was wondering if anyone else with an extended cab ranger has made a custom trans tunnel and the difficulty of it? Again, and if I'll have to cut the bed and where.

I am very slowly building a drift truck on a budget. Should I buy or make custom shock mounts for coil overs and keep the Leafs with traction bars instead of spending $700+ on a 3- link? My thought would be that they are keeping the axle in place, the coil overs would add more stiffness to the rear instead of just a strut, and if I mount them above (on a custom crossmember) the outside of the pumpkin angled towards the middle of the axle tubes. I feel like it could help better than putting them in at the factory location, though I do plan on swapping an explorer rear end in there I'll have to change the spring perches.

no idea. i lowered my 04 enough that i am to the point if i go lower, i am told it will have ball joint issues on the front but i have no trouble on the back, yet. i have not notched or done a flip kit and i lowered it 4 or 5 inches out back.

i have the torsion bar front end though so i cannot easily go lower without adding coils up front and then finding out where the ball joint limit is going to be.

some guys on here have done lots of lowering so maybe they can add more

Leafs should be ok in the rear, if anything coilovers and a 4-link. I’d definitely go polyurethane bushings, better rear shocks and traction bars. I haven’t notched my frame because my biggest battle is getting the front low enough. Like @superj , I haven’t notched the frame in the rear. I do have the torsion bar front except I’m AWD, so my front lowering is complicated. The upper ball joint is my current problem along with the upper A-arms being too short. You don’t have any of those particular problems with a 2wd and TIB front suspension. There’s a lot more available for those for lowering.
