Alright guys,
so I bought a 95 ranger in deceber and I had posted about it here. I was originaly under the understanding it was a 3.0 then I was told buy the seller it was a 4.0
so I went and got it loaded it on the trailer. and I didn't think much of it and when I got it home opened the hood to take a closer look at a few things. found out it is infact a 3.0
the issue I'm having now is that the throttle position sensor is pulling both the high and low voltage codes for the throttle position sensor, I replaced the throttle position sensor with a brand new one from orielys but the truck would not start at all after this. I'm not sure what would cause this but I put the original back in and it runs now. I of course seem to have lost the box for the new sensor. so I cant return it if its faulty
I still have the new sensor its in the glove box
is there a relearn proceduere or what could be the issue
thanks in advance
Alan

I know some TPS have reversed rotation. I wonder if the new one was reading the full 5v with the throttle closed which would put it into "flood clear mode". IE: no fuel.

so maybe try and put it on but use a small screw driver or something and rotate the center part of the sensor?

Probably easiest to put it on, back probe the connector with a multimeter, Turn the ignition to run, and check voltage at zero thru wide open throttle.

ok is there a range it should show for these or acceptable number for the high and low?

should be 1.0v to 5v I believe, but anything 0.5 to 12v is considered valid by Ford I believe.
I haven't re-watched the vid but here is a guy testing it. I believe it is most common to be like 0.85 to 0.95 at base instead of the spec 1.0.
