I hope that I am putting this in the right section.

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger that was totalled out. The bed is bad as well as the back of the cab. I was wondering will a cab off of a 1995 fit onto my 2001truck? Are the doors the same? Can I use the Dash out of the 01? And will it line up with the front fenders? :dunno: What do you guys think?

Dash might fit but it will be a (insert random curse) to put in.

Cab may also fit. Your wiring will NOT be the same. You will also need to install a plug for the OBDII that your 01's system runs off from. You should be able to get that with the rest of the interior.

Fenders will line up but you will need custom work to make it work with your truck. Many people do this as a modification to older rangers. It does look odd and a good eye can tell the difference (less flush accessories) but it is possible.

Doors, not the same IIRC.

Seats are prettymuch a direct swap. I'm sure your newer seats are remotely better than the 60/40's your 95 probably came with.

I'm not sure if the cab will bolt up. It should, the bed will anyway.

I would leave the dash. It should be the newer (not newest) style anyway. Just install a connector for OBDII and your golden.

I may be 100% wrong on all of this by the way.

if it is extended cab the cab mount are in a little different place so it wont be a just bolt on for standard cabs i'm not sure

Sounds like I need to look for a cab and bed off a 2001 and up. Unless I want to do alot of fabing. :icon_welder:

They added like 6 inches to the back of standard cabs, starting in 98, so even if you could get things to line up with the frame, you'd have a gap of 6 inches between the cab/bed. Any cab 98+ should work, as long as you're replacing your cab with a similar one, ie: standard replaced with standard, extended with extended.

My 01 is a ext cab, 4 door, 4x4, auto. So is the 1995 truck. (other than the 4 door part) I just want to use the cab and bed off the 1995. The rest from the 2001, but it sounds like I need to find a newer cab.

My understanding is that it was 3" added to the length of the standard cabs. The numbers I've seen for wheelbase and in the chassis builder's guide (or what ever its called) seem to agree with this.

Both the cab and bed would mate up to the mounting points on your frame. The extended cabs are supposed to use the same mounting since they went to that cab style. The problem is that you would probably want to swap over all of your wiring, and need to swap the front clip to include the core support and header panel. In the end it'd probably be worth the time and money to find and purchase a newer cab to use, but yes you can use it. The bed has been the same since 93 until they went to the 10 bolt beds, can't remember the year but it was after 2001.

the amount of bed bolts was even after 2003,as my 94 has a 2003 bed on it with out any issues

Also you need to consider that OBD 2 monitors fuel tank evap pressure. So you will need to make sure to keep the 2001 tank in place.....Assuming you're using the 2001 ecu.
