Does anyone know the size of the factory MAF housing? I didn't pull mine off and measure it yet (on the outside it looks tiny as shit) but I was wondering if anyone has tried different MAF sensors on there 3.0l? Oh and just the housing, reusing stock electronics. These have the goofy design that bolt onto the air box and I would like to do a cold air intake. Instead of using an adapter I was thinking of using my 55mm SHO MAF housing that I have leftover from my previous car which is round at both ends.. I mean if no one has tried it I will, I'll just check stock voltage then swap out the housing(disconnectiong the battery of course) and re-check the voltage. When doing both keeping an eye on the o2 sensors(A/F ratio). The housing is the same as the 3.8l, and 5.0l found in tauruses, tbirds, and rustangs (Yes I know that the 5.0l never came in a taurus). Plus orientation is key, they are fussy as to which way they are turned(clocked). This really isn't for power but efficiency. The more efficient an engine is the more mileage/power it makes and less stress on the components.
