Would a 2.3 4 Cyl Trans work??? 2.3 torque converter work?

Do they have to be 4x4??
(2 peice tail right? Out put Shaft the same for 4x4 n 2x4)

Will a 1993 to a 2001 Trans Work? (Jus Bolt n Go)

Thank You,

Come on, 1 week n no help??? No one has used
a trans from a different year for a 1995 3.0???

Lil Help Please...

Thank You,
Mike Tech

It is my understanding that any year 3.0 tranny will interchange, as long as it's a 4x4 -> 4x4 or 4x2-> 4x2.

Thanks Man..

That would be Great... Can someone Confirm this???

1994 and older 3.0s had the A4LD, not 4r44e, so those won't work. At some point in the late 90's, the 4r44e was changed to the 5r44e, which is the 5 speed version of the 4r. However, I believe the 2 are interchangable but not positive.

In 1995 the 3.0s went to 4r44e.. the 5r44e is for the 4.0s..
3.0 n 4.0 dont share the Same Bolt Pattern either..

I think he wants to know if he can Use a 1996 or newer
Trans in his 1995 3.0 Truck.. Without changing Major Parts..

Thanx,
Rob

The differences will be the in the wiring and plugs. 95 and up 3.0s use the fully electronically controlled 4R44E 4 speed w/ OD. There may be some very minor internal differences as the years progress, but it is still essentially the same transmission from 95 and up. The best way to tell is to make sure your harness plugs into the to-be-installed transmission. If it does, then your golden.

No, 4r44e is the 4 speed behind 2.3s and 3.0s
5r44e is 5 speed behind 2.3 and 3.0
4r55e is 4 speed behind 4.0
5r55e is 5 speed behind 4.0.

That article has a typo. There is no such thing as a 5R44E transmission. The 3.0 V6 and 4 cylinder engines received the 4R44E transmission. The 4.0 got the 4R55E and later on the 5R55E.

I'll believe there exists a 5R44E when I see it stamped on the case.
