What's the worst that could happen?
I've been looking at replacing my tailgate and have run across instances where I've seen that the flareside (stepside) and styleside tailgates are interchangeable....that can't be correct --- or is it?

Thanks,
r

I really doubt it. But I haven't measured.

Just make sure the tailgate is closed before you back into a pole or tree. That way you won't mess it up like everyone else.

Yeah, thanks. It could just be the way some of the vendors describe their items. LMC has them listed separately. Ebay vendors not so much - who'd a thought :icon_confused:

Those two tailgates are different size in width. A step side tailgate will only fit onto a step side and the same goes for the regular bed.

I kinda sorta knew that, but just wanted someone else to confirm. The bed on my step is gotta be about 6-10 inches narrower.

Thanks for the confirmation.
