Is there a specific topper for a ranger side step bed? or can a regular ranger topper fit the bed?

a few years ago I saw a guy that built an adapter that mounted to the step side bed & the canopy mounted to it he did a great job with the conversion & it was all home made from diamond plate aluminum & then he had powder coated nearly the same color as his truck. Step side canopies & tonna covers are spendy for them new ,but I have seen great deals on Craigslist.

I got a hard shell tonna cover for a co workers step side for $30 only thing it needed was a new set of locks & a light wet sanding & puffing

I'm still unsure about getting a topper. As I mostly spend time with my better half, I occassionally load some friends in the back to goto the beach. Since they live 60 miles from the coast, I figured it would be a good idea to get a topper and throw some bucket seats and brackets in the bed.
