hey there, i have a 1994 ranger STX 4x4 with the 4.0L engine and i just have a couple questions. i have a 3 inch body lift that i will be installing shortly, hopefully within the next month. but also i am looking at purchasing a rough country 4" suspension lift which includes : Front coil springs, radius arm drop brackets, I-beam drop brackets, sway-bar drop brackets, power steering pitman arm, 4 RC Hydro 8000 series shocks, u-bolts, and option of rear blocks or rear leaf springs. i was wondering besides whats with the kit is there anything additional that i will need to buy? will i need to buy extended brake hoses? also what is the biggest size tire you guys would recommend with the 3" body lift and 4" suspension lift installed? if ya guys can help out that would be great.

idk if its the same as on the older stx's but usually the rancho kit wont work on a STX package truck.....maybe someone else can chime in

You will want new brake hoses, yes.

Make sure the kit you get includes two new FULL-REPLACEMENT axle pivot brackets (RC apparently has recently revised their kit design, although it seems there are still a lot of the old drop-plate style ones left in distribution). The drop-plate is well-known for punching a hole right through the front differential housing.

After '89 or so, there is no difference between STX trucks and 'other' models, any kit will work on it fine.

As for tires, 33x12.50s will fit with room to spare. 35x12.50s will fit with VERY minor trimming on the fenders (use a 15x8" wheel with std 3.75" backspace).

Have you budgeted for the new axle gears needed to turn the bigger tires? (it's gonna be a big slug otherwise).

well i have 31x11.50's on the truck right now and it seems fine. i was thinking of just going up to 33x12.50's, is that going to make that much of a difference? will it be fine if i don't re-gear right now?
