Hey Guys
I've got a 1994 Ranger with a 4.0 I'm looking to put a Skyjacker lift on to run 33 x 12.50 BFGs All Terrain. Your website says with a 4 inch lift I may need to trim the fenders and I certainly don't want to do that. Skyjacker says 33s with clear with a 4 inch lift. I don't want to run the 6 inch lift if I don't need to so I sure someone knows what the real answer is. Any help would be appreciated.

You'll be on the hairy edge of "fit/no fit". Pretty sure it will need minor fender trim. You could install the 4" Skyjacker kit and if the tires rub a bit, 1-2" of body lift would likely fix it. That might be slightly cheaper than the 6" lift. I'm not sure.

I did 6" lift with 35" tires. All my fender trimming was on the rear half of the front fenders. No trimming for rear wheels.

my 1991 ranger had a 3 inch body and a 2-3 inch suspension lift and it cleared 33x12.5x15's without any rubbing from lock to lock. I would get the 4 inch suspension and get a 2 inch body lift. That should keep the costs pretty low and you wouldn't need to make any body mods. 33's aren't that big. most small trucks can run them with a 3" body lift.

I had a 6" Skyjacker lift on my '86 and my old 33's rubbed in one spot. It put the lift in an '87 Bronco II and the same tires did not rub anywhere. Not sure what was different but it does depend on the truck to some extent. My body lines and fender openings are different than yours.

It also depends on the wheels you use, how wide they are, how much backspacing they have, and how tall the tires you get actually are. Some 33's actually measure 33" tall but others do not and are shorter. There are a ton of variables.

I think if your tires rub anywhere it will be on the plastic inner wheel well liner.

From what I've seen... 33 inch tires aren't necessarily 33 inches tall. They will vary from 32.4 to 33.1 inches tall. The BFG ko2's I believe are 32.5 inches. Something else to consider is wheel back spacing and wheel width. The further you put them outward... the more room you will need to go lock to lock and tuck them in the wheel well.

The claims should state.."your results may vary"
