I have a 1994 ranger 2.3. I replaced the head gasket and afterwards when I starting it fires and immediately dies. Has a new control module, new crank sensor, and another pcm. Still no fuel injector pulse
Do you have 12v on the injector leads? You should with the key ON, on both conductors. The computer will ground one, and make the injector pulse.
Ditto on the coil. There should be voltage that the computer will ground-unground to make the coil spark.
Did you check for codes? I had a MAP code, and had the same problem on a Vulcan, EEC-IV system. Map did not indicate the engine needed any fuel... so the injectors just worked until the engine had started, and then they stopped pulsing cuz no fuel needed... I thought different, so I replaced the MAP. Check your codes.

I just replaced the mass air flow sensor and the harness for the coils and com/ injectors. Still no pulse for injectors after initial start unless the spout is removed.
Update:: problem solved today! Changed the harmonic balancer and truck fired right up. Not sure if my solution will work for anyone else or not. Just thought I'd put it out there just in case.
