alright im thinking of selling my 88 ranger and buying a 1994 mustang, i no these 3.8L are dawgs but it isnt compared to a lifted 2.9L but anyways i dont need speed, this car is more practicle for me being (15 years old), i would like to have both but i just dont got the cash, is there any thing rong with these mustangs tthat i should look for ? the one i want is mint and i no the owner and its bin severly babyed, its already got rims/exhaust/tails/heads/grill and a system/tinted windows, its in imaculate shape hes asking $5500 but i think i might beable to get it 5000$ does this sound pretty good ? around here i think that year is worth $4200 ish but this one is in better shape then most its age. anyone here got a 1994-1998 stang, lets see some pics ?

take your $5000 and buy a 1980-1990 mustang with a 5.0 HO thats in real good condition. but if economy is your deal than ya go with the 3.8l. But whats the point of having all that bling if you have no go? my $0.02

A HO 5.0 will get 24-25 MPG if driven nice on the freeway...

i have yet to find a 15-19 year old that didnt live by the words "Pedal to the metal" so he is out of the "drive nice" category. sorry motocross.:3gears:

Ok, there's one fly in the ointment for you getting a mustang...

You being 15 years old are about to get your license?
Frankly, new driver plus a mustang? Do you know how any
insurance company is going to look at you?
It's the legal monetary equvilent of your voluneering to go as
an inmate to a maximum security prison and insist on wearing a dress....

You might be better off sticking with a Ranger.

mustang is a terable idea sory man but it a speading ticket or car crash waiting to happen. they suck in the snow and the rain :badidea: :nono:

but if that is what you want the 3.8 for gas milage or the 5.0 for power:3gears: thats is my $.02

My son has a 2000 3.8 Mustang, 5 speed stick. It has plenty of power, we looked at a GT but I preferred he have a car without enough power to hurt himself. He got a ticket for 83 in a 55 last week anyway. :buttkick:
Only thing with the 3.8, you have to keep an eye on the head gaskets but with only 50k I wouldn't worry yet. I used to have a Lincoln with the same engine, head gasket let go at a little over 100,000 miles which is about the lifespan.
A used oil analysis for $22.50 from Blackstone Labs will tell you. My son's car showed 0 water and 0 antifreeze in the oil.

plus one on they suck in the rain. .my mom has a 94 convertible with the 3.8 an it SUCKS in snow.... granted it gets 27-28mpg on the highway but thats about all it has going for it.. also around 100k their known for cracking heads.. i would stick to the ranger... decent mileage for a truck an 4x4

I wouldn't mind getting one some time just to drive to work, a GT would be fun but hard to justify as the insurance would offset any milage savings. Snow isn't a biggie as it would just be to go to work, I have two 4x4's if the weather gets bad. I know the 3.8 would be alot cheaper to insure, I have never priced it though. It would be a good thing to check before you jump into it.

I had a 1990 Plymouth Laser RS Turbo in college, it was alot of fun and got about 27mpg on the highway. Only problem was it had 170k miles on it and insurance was about the same as the 12 year newer 4x4 truck that replaced it. Sporty cars are fun but you gotta pay to play, and being young you pay dearly.

yeah iv done alot of debating on this and i think im keeping the ranger and i might buy a stang in a year or somthin just for cruzin on sunny days...if its not my daily i definatly want that 5.0 haha

I spent 3K on my 98 ranger; I sure as hell wouldn't spend 4K on a 94 V6 stang.
