I have a 1994 ford ranger 4.0 4x4 truck stock suspension to my knowledge. I just had my truck in my grandpa's shop getting the head gasket replaced and i noticed the bed appeared to lean to the right. My first guess is that the shock is bent but im unsure if this is common or not. the tire pressure is equal on both rear wheels so what should i look for? The lean isn't highly noticeable but still annoys me now when i look at it.

lean

Does it look like its leaning comparing it to the cab, if so it could be a rotted bed mount cushions, also could be a bad leaf spring hanger rusted or broken, rotted out spring eye bolt bushings, shock bent really bad, weak spring, and worse case, a bent frame, are you sure its not the other side sitting high, so what Iam saying is get under it and start looking at things:icon_confused::dunno:

It's not that it is leaning compared to the cab i can see it because the tail gate is at a slant

i will get under it and look tomorrow

Like RA mentioned.
I think you're going to find that a spring mount is rusted and broke free from the frame.
Probably resting against the bed of the truck.

I crawled under and looked at it today and I think it is my leaf Springs. The driver side which is normal has a gap but the passenger side is flat with no gap until I lift the bed.

Most likely the rear spring shackle or hanger on that side. Back mounting point of the spring
