i have a crack in the oil dip tube of the 4.0 it spits oil pretty bad when u get on the gas.. i was wondering if anyone had to replace this or knows about how to or the cost. is this something i can do? i can fix alot of stuff on rangers or b-series but this is something i have not attempted or know much about. pictures, links, prices, or any info would help thanks.

The dipstick tube is simply pushed into a hole and has an o-ring to seal it. There should be a small tab mount that is on a stud / nut or held to the block by a bolt. Cracking can be caused by the bolt or stud / nut not being tight or the tab being broken. Get the replacement tube, undo the bolt/nut, pull the old tube out, and put the new one back in. Other than (possible) rust on the bolt / stud, should be easy to do.

i just replaced mine on my 93 4.0L. from the stealership ford charged me 85 bucks for a new one. which is completely ridiculous. check out your local junk yards first
