I have the trans out of my 1994 ford ranger. The rear seal on my 4.0 is leaking a little, and I am wondering if I can put a new one in with the engine still in the truck? Do I need any special tools? Thanks for the help.

you definitly can put one in while the engine is in the truck..you have to remove the flywheel......pull the old seal out with a nail making sure you don't scratch the area. pop in a new seal........they sell a tool for it or maybe you can rent it ......I found this link for you http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...__30l__40l_rear_main_seal_installer_tool.html
