I recently swapped my 1993 xlt rwd from automatic to manual and in the process, I installed an instrument cluster from a donor 93 that had a tachometer. I read somewhere that this should be a direct swap, however, the tachometer is not functioning at all. I tried tracing the tachometer wire but could not find any issues. Does anybody have any ideas?

Welcome to TRS :)

What engine is in your vehicle?

And do you know what engine was in the donor vehicle, not needed but might make it easier?

Its a tan/yellow stripe wire that will come from the coil OR ICM(ignition control module) depending on the engine model

On 1993 2.3l the ICM is on the front of lower intake manifold in engine bay, so fan blows on it to cool it off
It will have the tan/yellow stripe wire, pin 12, that's the Tach signal wire

That wire has spliced/split and goes to pin 4 on the computer and pin 8 on the cluster, both are tan/yellow
Its also labelled IDM signal in some diagrams, just FYI
