Anyone had any experience with these? I might be picking one up friday for a commuter car/future winter rat and as something I can drive when I take my ranger down for repairs.

Here's the sellers ad..

i have a 1993 nissan nx2000. its a small 2 door car with fully functional T-Tops!!! heat and ac work. automatic, has cd/radio/aux outlet for ipods. ive only had it for a couple months. the owner before me had a lot of work done to it(i have all the papers documenting what has been done to it) need gone asap! will take trades for 1994+ accords and pos civics but would prefer for the car to be STANDARD. email with interest and questions, can send pictures. thank you!

They said they're selling it to get a 5 speed car they have their eye on.

Here's the photo they sent me.

I think I see a little bit of rust on the rear wheel well. But other than that it looks clean, on this side.

I'm sketchy about getting it, because it has 190k already. They want 1500 but I'm definately going to attempt to talk them down to at least 1200. If it runs good, it's worth at least that much.. I'm not diggin the color either lol.

Picture looks old too. Could be more rusty now.

I looked up some reviews, it had 5 stars on everyone I read.

Does anyone know if the Vicious LS differential came in the automatic version as well?

I like the T-Tops. Car I believe is essentially the same mechanically as a Sentra SE-R of the era so there should be a little afftermarket support for it

.

Yeah, it's basically a second gen Pulsar. Nothing wrong with it that I can recall. Seems to me it was a fairly limited production model and most of the NX's came with the GA16 engine instead. Did the 2000 use the SR20DE motor? Can't recall anymore. There is (or used to be) a decent Nissan forum at the conveniently named www.nissanforums.com website.

Yes, NX1600 came with the 1.6L in the lesser Sentras (110 hp) and the NX2000 came with the 2.0L in the Sentra SE-r and Infiniti G20 (140hp I believe)

Interesting tidbit. That era Sentra (excluding SE-R) is still produced and sold in Mexico (and some places in South America) as the Tsuru

I think I'm a member over there, if that's the site. Back when I had my hardbody pickup.

Cool beans. I wouldn't do anything major, since it's going to be more of a backup vehicle than anything else. Wheels, seats, stereo. Basic bolt-ons for me. Maybe an aftermarket intake. No fart can though. I HATE fart cans.

So basically if the motor blows up on me, parts wont be ungodly hard to find?

I have decided that I am most likely going to buy it, unless I get there and it's a rusted out POS that barely runs. And if they haven't had the timing belt or chain or whatever it has done recently I'll either walk or lowball the hell out of it.

What do you guys think is a fair offer on this car? Seeing how it has 190k and all..

nissan made those to try to steal some sales from the mr2 and the del sol. parts are pretty inexpensive (as was said before its the same motor as the sentra), and gas mileage is probably pretty high. depending on rust and how it runs 12-1500 is more than fair for both parties

For some reason when I saw your post I got all excited and though I wounder is he means the 200SX Turbo. The most awesome and overlooked nissan ever built. I want one so bad then I saw your pic and was like oh nevermind...

Sorry to thread jack but I want one of these so bad But i've only ever seen one in person.

I was so pissed this morning, girl with the car called me up and said she isn't going to sell it because the person who's car she was buying backed out.

Sucks, because now I have the loan and nothing to do with it because I can't find any decent cars in my price range.

I need another grand to get something good around here.

I've got an '84 300ZX that sounds like a POS to look at, but we'll see.

I also found a second ad for the Geo I want but I'm still waiting on it..

Not having a usable car SUCKS.

Some guy has one around here in decent shape, I actually mistook it for a AE86 Corolla.

Guy with the 200SX was a scammer.

The one tracker turned out to be a 5 speed.

The other one never called me back.

Soooo new options!

Eclipse
http://syracuse.craigslist.org/ctd/2348758900.html

It's a maybe.... gotta call on it..

Then there's these..

Probe.
http://rochester.craigslist.org/ctd/2337149316.html

Cavalier
http://scranton.craigslist.org/ctd/2347276613.html

A bit out of my driving range.. but I might be able to make it out there. Since they're dealers I can drive it home and not make two trips, as long as they have a fax lol.

Opinions? I know the cavalier will get the best mileage, then the probe close behind, and the eclipse in the end. The eclipse has a good resale if I decide to sell it, cavalier is easy to find parts, and the probe is the cheapest. However the eclipse needs paint, the probe needs work, and the cavalier is well.... a chevy.

I can't say anything about the other two but please stay away from the cavalier. I'm not just saying that because it's a GM product, which I normally would. But my wife had one when I first met her. We had none stop issues with it. I fixed it continuously but it never failed to have more issues. She had a '97 2.2 with 80,000 miles on it and she kept having water pump issues with it up until she totaled it. She then baught a '96 Z24 (the car she had when I met her) which had a 2.4 swaped in from a sunfire GT cause the original motor threw a rod. Both the sunfire GT and the cav Z24 have the same motor. Anyway constent problem when the car got to the point when we was going to be killed driving it, we finally traded it for a focus. Heres the thread.

I can't tell you enough stay away from the cavalier for you own safty and wallet.
