the 4x4 button the dash wont engage the shift motor

If you do not want to do any troubleshooting and try the shotgun approach, replace the motor. Not always the problem but a good place to guess.

If you want to mess with it first, you can pull the motor off and then take a battery charger and see if you can get the motor to move when power is put to the motor wires.
