i have a 1993 ford ranger 3.0v6 2wd it will run fine but when i decelerate the idle stays higher then normal and when i tap gas it wants to shut off sometimes it will shut off take a while to start back up. what could this be?? need help asap

Very likely the IAC valve is dirty/sticking or shot. Also could be a vacuum leak. The IAC won't generally throw a CEL but a vacuum leak eventually will (lean bank, etc).

thank you

took the iac valve off and cleaned it good with carb cleaner seemed to help it alot thank you very much buddy
